Meet Our Pastor
James Bussard is the pastor of Pinecrest Baptist Church. He was voted into the pastorate in October 2017, and is excited about what God is doing in the hearts of the church family, as they serve the Lord together.
James accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior in 1989, when he was seven years old, at Camp Tohiglo in Mercersburg, PA. He realized that he was a sinner and deserved to pay for the transgression of sin in Hell forever. He heard that Jesus Christ was the eternal Son of God that died, was buried, and rose from the dead, to pay for his sin debt. That evening, James repented of his sin, and accepted Christ as his Savior.
James was called to full-time Christian service during his teen years, when God made the calling definite and apparent. It has been confirmed in the many years since then. He went to Bible college, to prepare for the ministry (graduating in 2004), and has pastored several years prior to coming to Pinecrest. He has also authored several books, including a Bible study series that seeks to give believers a solid doctrinal foundation for their faith.
James married his wife, Sarah, in 2003. They met at Bible college, and have been blessed with three children: Phoebe, Jimmy, and Andrea. James and Sarah work closely together as a husband and wife team: assuming the biblical roles that God has given them. James’ preaching style tends to be more expository, with some topical/character studies/etc. added, when God leads.
James and Sarah are very excited to be part of the Pinecrest Baptist Church family! The church is in state of restarting: meaning that many facets of the ministry are starting from scratch. There is a small, but faithful congregation that meets throughout the week, and the general focus is that of preaching the Gospel to the community, while discipling believers in the doctrine of Christ. Every part of the ministry needs a little bit of work here and there, but, with God’s help, the work is getting done.
